Rakhi Singh hails from Llandybie, Carmarthenshire. Her mother, Dorothy Singh placed a violin in her hands at the early age of 3 and she grew up competing successfully in national and international competition -most notably winning the Audi Junior Musician of Great Britain ’96 and the Texaco Young musician of the Year ’97, Bryn Terfel Scholarship 2004 and a Creative Wales award 2015. Throughout her career Rakhi has played concertos in the UK - Germany - France, lead the RLPO, CBSO and Manchester Camerata, toured Europe - New Zealand - Australia leading the Barbirolli string quartet, appeared live on Classic Fm - Radio 3 - S4C - BBC, recorded for Nimbus Records, performed in many european arenas both as soloist and with Bjork - Take That. She is equally at home performing to 20,000 people as for 30 people down the local pub and she delights in bringing musicians together. Rakhi plays on a 1860 Sebastian Vuillaume violin.
